Today I am very excited to share an up and coming online market with you, Lovely Finds Market. This market was established in February 2020 – What a time to come to life! But even through Covid 19, Tabitha is growing her brand. She brings Quality, natural Canadian products to you, in one place. I know for me it’s always annoying having to go to 1 website for soap, another website for candles, and another website for my bath bombs. But what if they were all in 1 place? Well now they are!
Tabitha started her business 5 months ago with the hopes of bringing quality brands to one place, to make shopping and finding these products easier for us the consumers. The best part, all products in Lovely Finds Market are made in Canada. I don’t know about you, but that has become super important for me to support local – especially with everything going on in the world.
A little about the women behind the brand, Tabitha Hobbs resides in the Fraser Valley with her husband Bryan and 2 senior chihuahuas, and 1 medium sized Thailand Street dog. She is a huge animal lover, who adopts from shelters -as she grows, she will donate portions of sales to animal rescues. She started this business to bring her love of nature and her passion for using natural products to others.
All of the products in Lovely Finds Market are Canadian made, from a small business, 100% natural ingredients derived from nature or plants. 80% of the current inventory are vegan for those who prefer them. They have Eco Friendly packaging, none of the products are tested on animals, and the best prices our sourced for the consumer.
I recently have started to move towards reducing our waste – 1 piece of garbage at a time. In doing this we tried the Goldilocks reusable beeswax food wraps. I absolutely love these wraps; I have never found plastic wrap to be easy to work with and always found it incredibly wasteful. But Goldilocks Wraps are so easy to use and look super pretty in your fridge. Not to mention that they keep food fresh longer than plastic wrap. I highly recommend checking them out – These can be found online at Lovely Finds Market.
Another product that is carried on Lovely Finds Market is Farmstead Naturals Handmade Baby Soap. We have been using this product and only this product on the boys for almost 10 months now. And I absolutely love it, it smells great and it is so gentle on their skin. We use it to wash their skin and their hair and they come out smelling so good and so soft! The best part it’s made of olive oil, Calendula Flowers and Chamomile Flowers, so its super gentle.
I was very excited to try Lily and Ollie Designs Microwavable Heat Pack – I don’t know about you but there is nothing more satisfying than curling up with your favorite candy the heat pack and good chick flick when you’ve got cramps. I found this to be so helpful for my bad cramps, I also love that it is lavender scented as I have had microwave packs in the past that are not scented, and they become very smelly with time. They are also very easy to use and care for!
Last but certainly not least I also tried my first Shower Steamer from Zombear Writes, of course I tried Eucalyptus Flavor as it smells amazing. It was so easy to use, and I got 2 showers out of it. I had an extra-long shower and found the aroma to be extremely relaxing. As someone who suffers from mental health issues the aroma really relaxed me and made me less anxious. I highly recommend checking them out online as Lovely Finds Markets has many different options.
It wouldn’t be fair to end the introduction of this amazing up and coming business without giving a little something back to the readers am I right? Well I have partnered up with Tabitha from Lovely Finds Market to give 1 lucky winner a 9 oz Madeleine and Minou Soy Candle (100% soy, and phthalate free fragrance and essential oils), the candles are handcrafted in Brandon Manitoba, The scents are so fresh and really set the summer mood and a $50 shop credit to use on Lovely Finds Market. Initially this blog post was going to be launching to discuss some tips for things to do in Downtown Langley over spring break. Since writing this blog the situation of COVID-19 has changed drastically and it became apparent to me that it didn’t seem right to post the same blog I had originally written. Therefor I decided to re-write this blog post, to be more relevant for the current situation we find ourselves in.
In the past few days, we have watched so many things we love be cancelled – its easy to get sucked into a negative head space in a time like this. But its extremely important that we think positive and continue to support one another in this time, it is not only a hardship for you, but for many others.
I want to talk about a few things that aren’t cancelled. Getting outside isn’t cancelled, and you can do it anywhere – especially if you aren’t showing any symptoms, haven’t been in contact with anyone who is, or haven’t traveled in the last 3 weeks.
A few weeks ago, Pearce and I enjoyed a special day together, we went with friends down to Downtown Langley, a historical part of Langley made up of over 500 unique shops, services and restaurants. The area offers free parking, so you can stop for a minute or a few hours and wonder around.
I realize for some of you, you may not want to venture for a walk, but you can also go for a drive, and if you’re going to do that, downtown Langley is the right stop, it has over 20 beautiful murals (14 of which can be seen without even getting of your car). Not to mention several amazing restaurants that you can order food and pick up from (or skip the dishes) if you are not up for eating in. There is also a ton of amazing shops downtown, some of which are still open with reduced hours, and others that are just doing online orders.
When Pearce and I visited a few weeks ago I wanted to make it a fun day for us, so I turned the mural walk into a treasure hunt (Pearce currently loves treasure hunts). I made special clues for us to read that would lead us to each mural and we picked up a mural walk map from Discover Downtown Langley Business Association (these can be found here). We loved that the mural walk took us weaving through all the stores, and even to Douglas Park for a break with some much-needed play time. Then it was back on the hunt for the next mural. As the day went on Pearce got very creative with his poses, and a bit of a sugar high as we enjoyed a few treats along the way. Pearce absolutely loved his treasure hunt day which ended with $20 dollars to spend in Sticky’s Candy Store. You can use the clues below to go on the same hunt we went on.
After we finished our mural walk – It was time for me to shop! I am so glad we did the mural walk as I had no idea downtown Langley had so many amazing stores – stores I would not have even known about if I didn’t do the walk. I got a huge haul – a new door mat (Whalecome) and an adorable mustard t-shirt from The Passionate home. A MAMA Sweater, a Hot dog T-shirt for Pearce, a ceramic soap dish, and a kitchen floor mat from This is It Gifts, and A Smash and Tess Romper, a Stitch Please Scrunchie, a jar of Jars by Jodi Cookie Mix, a Sushi t-shirt for Brooks from The Local Space. Oh and of course I also got a bag of Candy from Sticky’s.
I realize that at this time, you may not feel comfortable going out and doing the mural walk but I want to share with you the many ways in which you can support the Downtown Langley Businesses in other ways:
You can support them by liking them on social media:
(go to their page and like it, like their post, share their post, share an old post of when you were last there.)
Jump online and give them a yelp review, a google review, or even a Facebook review.
Buy gift cards from local restaurants and stores to use at a later time
Reschedule appointments for a few weeks from now instead of cancelling.
I know that we are a strong community and we will get through this and I want to give us all something to look forward to for when that happens or to help you support these local businesses now. which is why I have teamed up with Discover Downtown Langley to give away $50 downtown Dollars to 1 lucky follower. See below to find out how you can win!
It was 2 years ago I did my first basket giveaway, we put together a basket that year that was pretty spectacular and people loved it. Since then my life got crazy, and it felt like too much to do. Because the basket has services in the lower mainland, I am going to put a rule that you have to be able to arrange pick up in the lower mainland to get the basket – it is FAR too heavy to ship! If you aren’t local but have someone who can pick it up for you, that works too – not will only hold basket for 10 days after closing. But please note there are services in the basket that are for the lower mainland so you can gift these services if you win and aren’t local.
You must be 18 years of age or old to enter! Sorry I know!
Please don’t follow just to unfollow, these businesses have donated pieces from their company that they could make a profit on to put together this basket and all they ask is you support them by following!
You must have an open profile to enter, as we cannot check the entry rules if your profile is private, so you can also just make it public for the duration of the contest!(November 15 – December 1st, 2019.)
